Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial 2026

Exploring the concept of SCALE — size, proportion, rhythm, spatial relationship, expansion and compression, monumentality, intimacy, and the dialogue between letterform, surface, and site. A dialogue between two artworks created twenty years apart: a miniature on vellum (XX × XX cm) and the largest work ever created by Nja Mahdaoui, a 300 × 700 cm canvas.
